Interested individuals organized to preserve the earth's biosphere by planting and caring for trees. Seeks to raise public understanding of the need for trees and the role they play in maintaining a healthy environment; works to acquire forest and other lands to ensure the continued growth of trees on such lands; establishes nurseries to supply the trees needed to "replace the millions destroyed annually and to offset Man's ever increasing use of combustion." Offers training in the planting and caring of trees; fosters research; is developing a specialized library focusing on the biosphere. Maintains and promotes the National Tree Fund, which provides financial support to plant and care for trees.
